Carter Mountain Engagement Pictures Charlottesville VA

Aaron took advantage of the gorgeous weather we have been enjoying recently to do Deanna and Dan’s engagement session on Carter’s Mountain. Carter’s Mountain is the perfect setting for engagement pictures, there are so many places to get amazing photographs! It embodies many of the things people love about Charlottesville; views of the Blue Ridge Mountains, apple orchards, vineyards, and a country store with delicious treats. Since they chose an outdoor pet friendly place, they were able to bring their adorable dog Toby along, who loved roaming all over the place and hanging out in the shade.

We love to get our couples laughing and smiling during their session. Whether the couple is playing the “Kissing Game” or chasing each other through the trees, they always have fun and genuine moments that Aaron captures in beautiful photographs.

Sarah & Matt’s Wedding – Chapter 2 | Charlottesville Wedding Photographers

Last week we shared chapter 1 of Sarah & Matt’s Wedding at Pippin Hill Farm & Vineyards. Today I am excited to share more pictures from Sarah & Matt’s wedding in chapter 2: the ceremony!

As the story goes, Matt met Sarah at a party while in their 1st semester at UVA Law. He was immediately stricken by her Flip-cup playing abilities (she apparently beat him quite a few times), and decided he had to get to know her better. From that point on Matt showed his ability to be caring, compassionate, and a great compliment to Sarah’s personality. As I’ve grown to know them it amazes me how well they balance each other, and how easily they show affection towards one another. This made it very easy to take pictures of them as they always had a smile on their face when looking at each other!

Some of my favorite pictures are of them overlooking the mountains. As I mentioned before, Sarah was on Say Yes To The Dress (if you haven’t seen it, check out Season 6 Episode 3). On the show Sarah mentioned that she wanted a picture of her and Matt sitting down and looking out towards the mountains, so to Randy’s dismay, she decided to sit down in each of the wedding dresses to make sure they were comfortable and looked good while sitting. I am happy to say her unconventional approach paid off, as all of the pictures of Sarah & Matt are stunning … and some of my favorite pictures ever!

Congratulations again to Sarah & Matt! Thank you so much for giving us the privilege to be your wedding photographers!

Charlottesville VA Family Photographer – Blue Ridge Mountains

I love this summertime family portrait session Aaron did with our good friends the Stevensons, whom you may remember from the family film of their last portrait session at Veritas. For this session, the Stevensons chose to start at Devil’s Backbone and finish up on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Devil’s Backbone was the perfect country setting, and Kayla and Savannah had so much fun climbing all over the hay bales while Paula and Cody looked on and laughed. Both girls are full of personality, and I love how Aaron was able to capture their silliness!
After they finished playing in the hay, the girls exchanged their cowgirl hat and boots for the absolutely beautiful handmade dresses their grandmother gave them. (Their grandmother is incredibly talented, and she actually made the dresses the girls wore in their first family session as well.) Aaron timed it just right so that they made it to the Blue Ridge Parkway as the sun was setting, and the pictures he got of their family up there are breathtaking; I was blown away when I saw them! The vibrant colors of the sunset mixed with the beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains made an amazing background for their family portraits.
