First Touch Wedding Tradition | Pippin Hill Farm Wedding

When it comes to the day of the wedding, many couples often choose to do a First Look, in which the bride and groom have a private moment to see each other for the first time on the wedding day, and becomes a beautiful, emotional, and intimate moment before the ceremony. In recent years, the First Look has been one of the most popular modern wedding traditions, first gaining traction around 10 years ago, and becoming a main-stay ever since. Recently another modern tradition has started to rise in popularity for couples who want to wait to see each other until the ceremony, but still share a moment beforehand. For those couples who are hesitant about doing a first look, we love the First Touch wedding tradition!

The first touch wedding tradition is a great way to share a special moment before the ceremony while maintaining the surprise element of when the groom sees his bride for the first time walking down the aisle. We loved Kathryn and John-Paul’s first touch as it was filled with laughter, happy tears, special notes and gifts. For their First Touch we arranged them back to back, so they could hold hands, talk to each other and enjoy a nice moment, all while avoiding seeing each other and giving us some amazing pictures with the beautiful mountain views at Pippin Hill. While we love the First Look, we feel the First Touch is the newest Wedding Tradition that we will be seeing for many more years to come (as you can see from these adorable pictures)!

Personalized Wedding Details

Kathryn and John-Paul’s incorporated so many personal elements into their modern rustic wedding details and decor: a customized Mrs. ring box with a monogramed “B,” personalized cuff links with “Kathryn, you are my person,” written on them, and they even created signature cocktails inspired by their dog, Tucker. We also loved how Kathryn and John-Paul lined the walkway leading up to their Pippin Hill Farm and Vineyards wedding with photos of themselves throughout the years! A meaningful, little detail and wonderful way to share memories with their guests!

The golden hour at Pippin Hill farm is magical, and we had to capture some photos of Kathryn and John-Paul in their vintage 1950 Bentley getaway car! Everything from their dusty mauve and gold wedding details to their almost too-pretty-to-eat fall wedding cake by Sequins and Sprinkles was an October bride’s dream!
