Richmond, Virginia Same Sex Jewish Wedding

When I met with Amanda over a year ago, and she told me plans for her same sex jewish wedding, I was so excited! Her cheerfulness and excitement was contagious, it was so fun to talk about all of the personal touches, both her and Elizabeth were planning to incorporate in their wedding! Amanda and Elizabeth chose to have their same sex Jewish wedding at the beautiful Richmond wedding venue, the Mill at Fine Creek. They both attended Wellesley College but ended up meeting at a Seven Sisters LGBT alumnae event in Washington, DC!   Their beautiful summer wedding day started out with a first look between Amanda and her father.  Her father’s reaction was so touching, as he was so happy to see his daughter in her wedding dress!  Elizabeth spent the morning in the cottage on site, and also had a touching first look with her mother and father. Her white suit was stunning and elegant and couldn’t have fit her more perfectly. Having a first look with your parents is always something I recommend! It’s truly priceless to capture the reactions when mom and dad see you in your dress for the first time.

Amanda and Elizabeth had a beautiful Jewish wedding under the most beautiful Chuppah covered in white flowers with a touch of pink.  After the ceremony we headed directly inside to sign the Jewish contract, the Ketubah!  Their parents and close friends cheered as they were officially married! We then had some time to explore the grounds, and had some amazing light shine through the trees for their bridal portraits. Their guests enjoyed cocktail hour outside with a tasting of Bold Rock Cider.  It was such a nice touch, and their guests really enjoyed trying all the different flavored ciders.  Elizabeth’s mother did a wonderful job hand-lettering the escort cards, and Amanda and Elizabeth chose their favorite tea blends that guests were able to bring home as their wedding favors!  All of their friends from Wellesley college had so much fun singing and dancing throughout the night.  It was so cool seeing the special bond between all their college friends, true life long friendships.  To wrap up the night everyone sent Amanda and Elizabeth on their way to their exit limousine through a tunnel of bubbles.  We wish Amanda and Elizabeth nothing but the best and thank you for letting us be your wedding photographers!
